Do you know the reward for memorizing the Quran? PBUH – said: “The one who memorized the Quran shall come on the Day of Judgment and (the reward for reciting the Quran) says: ‘O Lord! Decorate him.”
So he is donned with a crown of nobility. Then it says: “O Lord! Give him more!’ So he is donned with a suit of nobility. Then it says: “O Lord! Be pleased with him.’ So He is pleased with him and says: “Recite and rise up, and be increased in reward with every Ayah.” Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, Said Hassan Sahih.
The status and power that memorizing the Quran gives us is immense especially in the Hereafter where the Huffaz will be donned in white shining clothes and paraded on luxarious horses.
Light and Noor will be emitting from them and the rest of the Ummah will gaze in bafflement and wonder who these special people of Allah are.
According to Ibn ‘Amr, the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam) stated: “It will be said to the companion of the Qur’an after he has entered Paradise, ‘Recite, and rise!’ For every verse, he recites he will rise one level (in Paradise) until he recites the last verse with him (i.e., in his memory).”
This hadith says that a person who has memorized the Quran will be made to climb the stairs of Jannah while reciting from his memory. He will be able to go as far as Jannat Ul Firdaus....
Do we not want this for our children? Do we not want them to become successful not only in this world but the Hereafter as well?
As a muslim parent are you not liable to teach your children the importance of Quran and Namaz in life so they can be protected from sin?
